Portriats

I have ordered my bridal portriat! This is the one I decided on.

Fiance and I both love black and white pictures so I thought it was a good idea to go with this one, also because it's one of my favorites!
I ordered a 16x20 canvas print of this and just guess how much it cost, guess.............................................................................................................................$59.99!!!!!!!!!! That's it!!! I ordered from Costco (you have to be a member) if you are a bride out there who doesn't want to have to spend an obscene amount of money on a portriat Costco is the way to go! My photographer actually let me in on that little secret!!! And now I'm passing it onto you dear readers! (And shipping was only $4.50)
Now what kind of frame should I get? I can't decide..........

What do you think???

Groom's Cake

I realized when Prep E-girl left me a comment about what kind of Doll I needed for my groom's cake that I had never actually told ya'll what I was doing for the groom's cake!

Well after meeting the consultant to go over the wedding cake I asked about a groom's cake and what I told her I really wanted was a soccer ball cake! Because Fiance is a HUGE soccer player, actually played for Scotland at one time, so I knew that's what I wanted for the cake. The consultant proceeded to tell me that it would be around $200 to do a soccer cake because of the roundness of the cake! And Sarah proceeded to choke on the wedding cake she had put in her mouth, just kidding but I was thinking that's outrageous!

So I decided to brainstorm and come up with some other way of making a groom's cake that didn't break the bank! And my sister-in-law popped into my head, she makes all the kids birthday cakes and she super talented, so I thought it would be funny and a good idea to ask her if she would take my niece Lily's barbie cake mold and create the top half of a soccer ball.......and instead of a barbie coming out of the top have either a Ken barbie or a super hero i.e. spiderman, superman, whatever. So that is the game plan and it will be a surprise for Fiance! I think he's going to get a kick out of it!

Here's a picture of a barbie cake, just in case some people reading this have no idea what I'm talking about......so I need to decide if I want Ken or superhero and I think I'm leaning toward superhero.....Image from GoogleImages

I have so much to do!

I have a lot going on right now! I think I've all but nailed down a new job! I'm just waiting for my third week of vacation to be approved so that I can take time to you know get married, have a honeymoon, that kind of thing.....so once that's settled I'll officially have a new job that starts in a little over two weeks! I'll actually be staying with the company that I'm at right now and be doing something similar to what I do today but it'll be a little different which I'm actually excited about. I'll just be happy to have something decided and not have this extra stress to worry about!

Which leads me to my next topic.......product review!!!! With all of the wedding planning and job interviewing and everything else, I've been under some serious stress and I thought it would be a good time to try out this.........Kiehl's Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant
I didn't used to sweat so much but lately the sweating has been kicked up a notch or 3. I don't know if it's my hormones or what but I've pretty much tried everything and nothing really seems to get the job done so I read a review of the Kiehl's on the WeddingBee and decided I'd give it a go. I'm only on the first day but I'll get back to you on how I think it's working!
And I had to share with you that Fiance and I decided on our First Dance Song! We'll be dancing to Michelle Featherstone's 'We are Man and Wife' I went onto YouTube and listened to it and thought it was just perfect, I got a little teared up just listening to it and I let Fiance listen to it and he thought it was perfect too!!! Feels good to have that done!
I also got all of the frames that we'll be using for our Family Wedding Photos table.....we've got pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days and we are going to have a special place at the reception for them. Got some nice silver frames at Marshall's for $3.99 each!
Next, I'm going to order my portriat and then order the handkerchiefs! I'm really trying to get a few things done a day so I don't feel so completely overwhelmed! Fiance and I are also meeting with the resturant owner tonight to go over our rehearsal dinner so that'll be another thing we can check off the list! : )

Need some help!

My MOH needs some help! She's doing her own invitations for her wedding and she went and bought the invitations (from target I think) and now she's having trouble finding somewhere to get them printed????
She's found a font that she likes on a website that you go to according to the instructions on the box of invitations but they won't download to her computer? Does anyone know where she can get them printed without costing a fortune? I don't know what to tell her?
**ABORT MISSION - Crisis resolved she went to Kinko's and they are going to print them for a reasonable amount $65 I think she said.

Wedding Towel Cake!

My first stab at making a wedding towel cake!!! This is for my maid of honor's shower on Friday!

These are her towels that she registered for and one of her flowers is the tiger lily! I'm sitting it on top of a cake stand that I got from target.....it's so cute, it can be used as a cake stand that has a cover AND you can use it as a punch bowl!! I love it, I actually registered for one myself!!

Not to bad for my first try huh?!

I just got jipped!

So I totally got ripped off! (i think) I went to Startbuck's to get my coffee and I ordered a tall non-fat caramel latte..........the menu said it was $2.80 and my bill came to $3.89???????????? Now I know that they charge you for flavoring but that much more????? And the girl didn't give me a reciept so I couldn't tell how she rang it up.........UGH! You're on my bad list right now Starbuck's!!! You need to train your employees better than that!
