Fifty Shades of Grey

Happy Friday Friends!

I've been on a little blogging break, but not on purpose.  Last Friday I was watching the Today Show and saw this news thread about this new book Fifty Shades of Grey and I was very intrigued.  So I went on to Amazon to read the first three chapters and lets just say, Hook.Line.Sinker and DONE!  I was sold!  This book draws you in immediately and let's just say it's hot!

This is actually a trilogy and I'm already on the second book.  So the old blog has been hearing crickets while I've had my face buried in these books.  I haven't even been on Pinterest, GASP!  Pinterest is my latest obsession....until now.

Has anyone else started reading these books?  What do you think of them!?  I'm obsessed, but in a good way!

p.s. These books are definitely not intended for young adult audiences and I would not recommend anyone under the age of 18 (maybe 21) reading them.

  1. I saw those books on the Today Show too! I was thinking of checking those out as soon as I finish The Hunger Games trilogy...yes, I got sucked into those also. :)

  2. OK girl, you know you got our attention last night when you started talking about this book, right?!? Yep, we went to Barnes & Noble at lunch today to pick it up...but they were SOLD OUT! *gasp* We'll be stalking every B&N this weekend until we get our hands on this. Did you have a hard time finding them? Should we buy all three books at once? It sounds like we're going to go through them fast!

We had so much fun last night!! It was great to finally put a person to the blog. ;) Can't wait to do it again!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Loved meeting you Thursday night! We're planning a sushi BLATE for the next one. I have this book on my to-read list, and seeing as how Jayme and Mendi said it was sold out, I'll try it at the library - hopefully there's not a huuuuge wait list. Thanks for the recommendation!

  4. Looks like I'm going to have to just download it on my iPad because I couldn't find it this weekend! I know Mendi found a hard copy on her side of town but not sure if she started it yet! Oh and I also picked up The Hunger Games and a few books by Jen Lancaster (she's hilarious if you don't know who she is). I'm stocked...I just need the "hot" book. :-)

  5. I'm halfway through the first book! I DIE!!! It's SO good! I ordered the other two books from B&N...they should be arriving on my front porch sometime this week. I'm so glad you said something about these last week, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone through the trouble to track them down. Boy, am I glad that I did! Haha! I can't wait for our next blate so that we can talk about who you have pictured in your head as Christian & Ana (I like to pick celebrities...sometimes they're a hybrid of more than one celebrity)!! Oh, Christian is a GOOD one! ;)

  7. Just wanted to update you. I did read The Hunger Games and while the premise of the book is really disturbing, I did like it and now need to read the last two and see the movie. And, I'm currently on Fifty Shades Darker (6th chapter). Good lord...it's good! Thanks so much for the rec!! Can't wait to see you soon so we can talk about Christian and Ana!! Hope you are having a great day!
