Christmas - 2010

We had a great White Christmas this year!  And I'm so excited because I got a Nikon D3000!!! So I'm a picture taking fool now!

Yeah, I don'nt know what kind of face I'm making here!!

Hope ya'll had a great Christmas too!! : )

Now it's time to get this place cleaned up!  When Christmas is over I always get in the mood to go through my closets and do a good clean out, get rid of the clothes I don't wear anymore, make room for the new stuff (or the things I'll buy in the January sales!) and just get into organization mode to start the year off right!

How about ya'll, does anyone else do this?

My 29 Goals in 2010

So back in January instead of doing the usual New Years Resolutions, like go to the gym more, never happens, I decided to do some goals for 2010.  These are things that I could work on all year long, which for me being a self proclaimed procrastinator were perfect!

I'm going to share these goals with you and let you know if I actually was able to acheive them. : )

I'll also be doing another list of goals for 2011, that list will contain 30 (I chose 29 because I turned 29 this year) so the 30 list will have to be a doozie!

Now, I'm going to tell you right now that I didn't actually achieve hardley any all of these goals, so the one's the I didn't complete will be going on to my 2011 list.

Okay on to goal 1 and 2.

Goal 1 - Attend Church on a regular basis (I didn't quite acheive this goal I'm embarrassed to say, I did try a bunch of Church's out and ended up finding one that I really like that I've gone to a handful of times, so this will definitely make my 2011 list)

Goal 2 - Run a 5k (**Disclaimer - I'm NOT a runner, hate it, but I did start running back in February kind of gearing myself up for a 5k in April, but it never happened.  I've printed off the running plan From the Couch to 5k (google it, it's awesome) that I'm hoping will help me out.  This goal will also be making my 2011 list)

So there are my first two goals and as I'm looking through my list of goals I didn't actually acheive a lot of them, but they're good goals that I'll be sharing and adding to the 2011 list.

Happy Tuesday!

Another wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Friends!  I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, ours was great!  I cooked for my Granny and Papa and my Mom and niece.  And everything I made was straight from the Pioneer Woman and fabulous!

I brined my turkey, which I had never done before and highly recommend.  I made her mashed potatos and then her stuffing (I added sweet sausage to it and it was yummy!)

I also made her homeade rolls and caramel pumpkin cheesecake!!! Everything was so good!

It was great to be able to spend time with loved ones!  And then I took a nap after they left because I was exhausted from all the cooking!! haha

But I was able to wake up and watch Elf, love that movie!! I also love the The Family Stone but can't seem to find it anywhere on DVD?!  I did find out that it's coming on FX on Sunday at 7:00 so I'll be recording it!

Have a great Friday night!! : )

Halloween Costume!

Yup that's right, I'm going to be Hit Girl for halloween!  I've got the cape, mask, tarten skirt, and purple wig!  All I need to get now is the fake double sword and some gloves.

This is definitely going to look like a halloween costume and not very realistic (I'll be wearing uggs for my boots and a regular shirt, not a leather jacket) but you'll recognize who I am though!  That's half the fun is coming up with creative ways to get the look you're going for!

So, tell me, what/who are you going as for Halloween!! I'd love to know! : )

Wall Street was very very good!!
The Town was good too, but I like Wall Street better.

Fall Wreath!

Hi Friends!  I'm so excited about this little craft project that I just completed!  I saw this post over at Thrifty Decor Chick and thought, I can totally do that!!!

All you need is a piece of foam board and some fall leaves from the Dollar Tree and a red crayon if you don't have any spray paint like me.  That's it!!!  Now I did a few different things to mine, like just cutting the foam board out with a knife and scissors, I think Thrifty Decor Chick used a jigsaw (I don't own one of those).  And she spray painted her square and I just colored mine, worked fine.

I did measure a 20 x 20 piece and then went four inches on each side and cut the middle out.  And her leaves were different than mine, I couldn't find those nifty little packets that she was talking about so I just went with the basic leave bunches, you know that you could add to a vase or something like that.  And just plucked them off the stems and ended up with two leaves per bunch.

I bought 5 bunches and just organized the leaves all around with a hot glue gun and 30 minutes later.................TA-DA!!!  I really like the way it turned out!  I'm actually giving it to a girlfriend of mine because she's been looking for a fall wreath for a couple weeks now.

So for a total of 7 dollars (5 for the leaves and 2 for the foam board) you too can have a shabby fall wreath that will work right through Thanksgiving!

And this is a very random little tid-bit but I cleaned out my junk drawer in the kitchen.  Everyone's got one right?  Our got out of control so I pulled everything out and reorganized it, but I don't feel like you can really tell a big difference.  I think I need to get those little bins from Target that organize things for you??  The after is the first one! : )

TGIF tomorrow!!!!

I think I have a problem!

SCRATCH THAT!  I know I have a problem, but seriously every time I go to the store I see a new fun magazine for fall and then I HAVE to get it!!!
But look at all the fun stuff they have inside!!

On another note.....or maybe a similar note.........I think I have another problem.......because I was burning Winter Wondreland last week.  It smelled soooo yummy though!!!  I know I have issues! : )

A Little Bit Crafty

Happy Monday everyone! I went on a little blogging vacation and now I'm back! Just a quickie post to show what I made my nephew Colby for his 1st Birthday a few weeks ago! It's a little plaque or it can be a door hanger for his room. My inspiration was a very similar looking design on Etsy and I thought it was so cute and also that it was something I could probably do as well. My only problem was the letters! I hand painted them and I think in future I'll get some paint pens to make the letters look better.

Has anyone done anything crafty lately? I just love looking through blogs and seeing what people are making!!!

A blog that I found a little while ago and is now on my blog roll to the left is Tater Tots and Jello and she is awesome!!!! I love her weekend wrap up party!

Big Summer Update Post!

I'm going to blame my absence from blogland on hubby, because ever since the World Cup started I have had 0 usage of my laptop. He's been playing his Soccer Manager game while watching the actual games on tv. So it's not my fault, really! ; )

We're actually going to a bar in a few to watch the US play in the World Cup, should be fun! : )

So while I have my laptop back I'm going to give you a quick rundown of some random summer facts a la Downtown Southern!

Hubby and I have joined a pool and we are OBSSESSED!! It's awesome!

I'm finishing up Nicholas Sparks The Last Song and will quickly begin reading the latest True Blood book, yay!! Can.not.wait!!

Hubby and I are taking the week of the 4th off, to do nothing but stay around the house and do ya'll know how excited I am about that!?!?!? I can't even tell you! I've never taken a vacation and not actually gone somewhere and while I love traveling and have been fortunate enough to see Italy, Spain, Scotland, etc. I'm really looking forward to staying close to home that week!

Will probably take a day trip to Williamsburg for some shopping, BCBG, Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, and the list is endless! I have to find a super cute dress for a wedding we're attending at the end of July. I want to go with the one shoulder look, I just love it!

***I have a bridal shower to attend July 10th! AND I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL YOU RECENT BRIDES!!!! What's your favorite shower gift you received??????????? I need ideas for a present!?!?!?!?!?! HELP! ***

I'm going to see Jack Johnson on July 19th in Virginia Beach!!! Woohoo!! Nothing says summer more than a Jack Johnson song!!!!!

My bday is in July, I'll be 29 so I need to celebrate my last twenties birthday right!!!!

Every Sunday night this summer I'm glued to the TV watching my favorite show ever! True Blood, fangbanger, yeah!!!!!

Going to try and get to the Outer Banks for a short weekend, it's in my top 3 happy places! Does anybody else have a happy place, where they go and just feel nothing but pure happiness? The Outer Banks, specifically Duck, Corolla, and Carova, it's heaven for me!
I'll be going to see Eclipse next week, eeeeee, so excited!!!!

We're getting our kitchen painted in July cannot wait! Our theme is Tuscan!

So I think that's what's going on in July, not too busy right? ; )

Anybody else have fun summer plans?!?!?
