My camera is dying! I went to take pictures with it about two weeks ago and it just turned off when I switched it to picture mode. Hubby took it in to see if we could get it fixed and it started working when he turned it on. So last night I was all ready to take a bunch of pictures of our Christmas decorations and this was as far as I got. It just started turning off again!? I think it's at the point of no return. My friend had the same camera and she said that her's just stopped working and it couldn't be fixed.
It's a Sony and it's about 3 years old. Hubby said we need to get a new one so I'm asking you all for your help!! I have no preference I just want to be able to take good pictures. So what do you all use and what do you like??? I'm thinkink maybe a canon or nikon.....I think we'll probably spend around 150-200 on one. HELP!!!!
I have heard tremendous things about the Canon Rebel! I know nothing about cameras as well, but from what I hear Canon products are top of the line (personally I have a sony cyber shot and it needs to be replaced as well!).
ReplyDeleteMy last two cameras have been canon's and I love them. I dropped the first one and broke it (my fault), but quickly replaced it with a Canon PhotoShoot SD850 and adore it.
ReplyDeleteIt comes in a package at Costco that includes the photo printer! I think it only cost about $200 to $250
Oh my gosh Sarah I think that's the one I have too! It's kind of bulky and silver!
ReplyDeleteAnd Undomesticated Newlywed thanks a million!!! I'll definitely look into Costco that's a great deal!!!
I just got a new Sony Cybershot for like $150 which is perfect for what I use it for - it has a Zeiss lens, so that's good! My mom has a Panasonic with a Leica lens and it's FAB but a little more expensive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Piper!!! I'll check them out too!
ReplyDeleteI have had good luck with the fuji finepix. I have had 2 different ones, and both have worked great. =)
ReplyDeleteOur last one we only paid $79 for!
Thanks Katrina! I'll check them out too!
ReplyDeleteDON'T get an Olympus - I hate mine. My future sister-in-law has a small Sony cyber shot that she loves. I have heard that Canons are the "real deal" for great pictures, though.
ReplyDeleteI have a Canon Powershot SD750. I got it in 2007. I'm sure there is a newer version out there. I really like it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour little tree is really nice. We have so many cameras and others may have better advice then me.
ReplyDeleteSanta got me a Powershot Canon SD1100 for Christmas this year. Now I haven't tried it out yet, but one of my friends has the camera and the pictures always look great. Santa bought mine at Best Buy for $179 the package deal which includes your memory card, battery for camera, cord for the computer to download pics and a bag for the camera!
ReplyDeleteI love our Canon ELPH PowerShot. It's compact and takes great quality photos. We've also given the camera as a family gift - well received by all!

my sister and i both have nikons. our parents got them for us for Christmas last year, but she knew about it in advance and paid the extra to go one step up from what they got for me. mine takes great pictures, hers takes AMAZING pictures. you feel like you are right there, and i know it's not her mad skills or anything. check out nikons, they are great! (i had a canon before that and was mildly disappointed.)
ReplyDeleteThere is a Kodak that comes in great colors and it can do panaoramic pictures (you take three and they stitch them together) I love it! I just found your blog and it's great! Check mine out! Looking forward to reading more.
