Wedding Recap: Grooms Cake

So when it came to the groom's cake I knew two things......1) I wanted it to be a surprise and 2) I really wanted to do something soccer related because that is hubby's favorite thing
(besides me, hehe)

I asked my cake vendor about doing a soccer ball cake and they came back with an outrageous estimate that was actually more expensive than our actual wedding cake. They told me that it was because of the ball shape it would be really hard to do, that's why it was so expensive.
That's when I decided it was time to get creative. Now hubby also happens to have an alter ego that's kind of a super hero, yes you heard me right, a super hero. This super hero came about right after the movie Nacho Libre with Jack Black hit the theatres.
While I was trying to think of what I could do I had the thought of a doll cake, you know the doll cakes with the dome like skirt and the doll sticks out of the top? Well my sister in law happened to have one of those cake pans so I told her what I wanted and I provided her a doll and the pictures below are the end results!!!!!
This is a text pic that my SIL sent me while I was getting my hair done at the salon. It had turned out great! You can kind of make out the soccer ball.

I'm showing it to my MOH.....
And the end result............

TA-DA
I wanted it to look like the 'super hero' was jumping out of the soccer ball haha....He loved it and the guests got a kick out of it.
And if you don't believe that my hubby really thinks he has an alter ego super hero, down below is the proof......

Yes friends, I married that......for the rest of my life........let's just say there is never a dull moment when my super hero is around.......haha
(can you just imagine what our kids are going to be like with a daddy like that?!?!)

uh-huh, yup, forever and ever. amen.
